Heavy leaf springs suit a Hilux that is loaded all the time – with a canopy, drawer system, toolboxes or touring gear. The rear does not sag, the vehicle is more stable and ground clearance is maintained.
ℹ️ The manufacturer has renamed its load ratings: Heavy = formerly Constant Load.
⚠️ Note: if you mostly drive empty or lightly loaded, choose Medium springs (TOY092B) – Heavy would be too firm without a load. For even more load there is Extra Heavy (TOY077D).
You will also need
- ✔Rear U-bolt kit (437UBKL) – uprated leaves are thicker
- ✔Rear polyurethane spring bush kit (767UK)
- ✔Rear non-greasable pins (387-1) – the manufacturer notes the OEM pins may need cutting for removal
