Installation Instructions – Front Diff Drop Kit for Toyota Land Cruiser 250 (1244K)
With a bigger lift on independent front suspension, the CV shafts sit at a steeper angle, which increases joint wear. The Ironman 4x4 kit (1244K) for the Toyota Land Cruiser 250 (2024+) lowers the front differential, bringing the CV angles back to a more favourable position. Below you will find the manufacturer's installation instructions, parts list, torque settings and matching products.

Installation overview (per manufacturer instructions)
- Check the parts against the parts list and record the batch numbers.
- Park the vehicle on level ground, chock the rear wheels and apply the parking brake. Raise the front, support it on stands under the frame and remove the front wheels.
- Remove the underbody protection plate (6 OE bolts).
- Support the differential with a suitable jack. Loosen the rear differential bolt, but do not remove it.
- Remove the right-hand and left-hand OE differential brackets (2 fasteners + chassis mount bolt each, 19 and 22 mm sockets).
- Attach the Ironman 4x4 left-hand bracket to the chassis with the OEM fastener – finger tight only.
- Lower the differential slightly to align the holes and secure it with the OE fasteners – finger tight only. Fit the right-hand bracket the same way.
- Connect the bracket to the differential using the OEM bolt and the supplied M16 flange nuts (bolt direction as shown in the instructions). Torque all differential fasteners to 149 Nm.
- Torque the rear differential mount bolt to 120 Nm. Refit the underbody protection plate.
- Torque the wheel nuts, check steering, brakes, brake lines and ABS lines (turn the steering fully left and right). Have a wheel alignment done and the electronic systems calibrated as specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
- Recheck all fasteners after 500 km (or two weeks), and also after off-road use.
The manufacturer states that damage or loss caused by improper installation is not covered by the warranty.

FAQ
What is a diff drop kit for?
After a bigger lift the CV shafts sit at a steeper angle and the joints wear faster. Lowering the differential reduces the CV angle.
What lift is the kit designed for?
According to the manufacturer, for a front lift of up to 3" (76 mm). The kit is part of the IM2.5 Monotube suspension kits for the Land Cruiser 250.
Is a wheel alignment needed after fitting?
Yes, according to the manufacturer a wheel alignment is mandatory. The vehicle's electronic systems must be calibrated as specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
Can I fit it myself?
The manufacturer strongly recommends installation by a certified professional mechanic. We will be happy to fit it for you at our workshop. In any case, we recommend professional installation by a workshop experienced with suspension.
Suspension installation form
When your Ironman 4x4 suspension is fitted, have the workshop fill in the installation form and keep it together with your invoice. You do not need to send it to us, but it is important in case of a warranty claim.
- part numbers of all suspension components
- vehicle height measurements – before installation, after the first test drive and at the 500 km check
